Humidor Club — Privacy Policy

Humidor Club is a cigar tasting journal and humidor tracker for aficionados, with an optional AI sommelier. This policy explains, in plain language, how the app treats your data: your content stays on your device, except that the AI mechanic sends the details you enter to an AI service (described below), and the app reports anonymous usage statistics.

Data collection

Humidor Club keeps all of your content on your device and never uploads it anywhere. To understand which features are used and to improve the app, Humidor Club collects anonymous usage statistics (for example, which screens are opened and whether a purchase completes) using Amplitude. These events contain a random identifier that is not linked to your name, email, or any account — the app has no accounts. No advertising identifiers, no tracking across other companies' apps or websites, and no sale or sharing of data for advertising. See Amplitude's Privacy Policy.

Your content

All your content stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

AI sommelier

The AI features are optional — the journal, the humidor and your tasting notes work without them. When you use one, only what that feature needs is sent to OpenRouter (which routes the request to an AI model provider):

Band scan: the photo you take of the cigar band.
What to smoke tonight: your answers to the short prompt (new or familiar, how much time, a drink, strength), plus the cigars currently in your humidor and how you rated the ones you have already smoked.
Similar cigars: the cigar you ask about and the cigars in your humidor.

These requests carry no account, name, or email — Humidor Club has no accounts. Photos are sent for that single request and are not stored by us. Your journal itself never leaves your device. See OpenRouter's Privacy Policy.

Purchases and subscriptions

Purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. For receipt validation the app uses RevenueCat, which receives only an anonymous receipt token — no name, email, or any other personal information. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

Children's privacy

Humidor Club collects no personal data from anyone, including children; anonymous usage statistics cannot identify any user.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
