Real or AI — Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 8, 2026

Real or AI: Photo Quiz Game is a photo quiz: you look at an image and decide whether a camera took it or an AI generated it. This policy is written to match the app exactly, so it says three things and not one. Your own game data stays on your device. If you choose to sign in to Game Center, Apple handles your player identity, your leaderboard scores and your duels with other people. And the app reports anonymous usage statistics so we can see which parts of the game are actually played.

We have no accounts of our own, no login screen and no servers of our own. There is nowhere for us to store anything about you, and we do not.

What stays on your device

Everything the game knows about how you play is stored on your device only: your scores and personal bests, your streaks and daily challenge results, your answer history with the per-image review, your accuracy statistics, and your difficulty setting. None of it is uploaded to us, and deleting the app deletes all of it. The images you play are shipped inside the app; Real or AI never asks for access to your photo library, your camera, your contacts or your location, because it does not need them.

The game has no text fields anywhere — there is nothing in it for you to type — so no text you write can be collected, because there is none.

Game Center

Leaderboards and duels run entirely on Apple's Game Center. This part is optional: signing in is controlled by iOS and by your Apple ID, not by us. If you never sign in, the single-player game works in full, and nothing in this section happens at all.

When you are signed in to Game Center:

Game Center is operated by Apple and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can sign out, change your nickname, hide your profile or manage your Game Center data at any time in Settings → Game Center. We have no access to Game Center data and cannot see it.

Anonymous usage statistics

To understand which parts of the game are used and where people get stuck, Real or AI collects anonymous usage statistics using Amplitude — for example, that a round was started and finished, which topic and difficulty it was, whether an image was answered wrongly, that the guide or the statistics screen was opened, and whether a purchase completed.

These events carry a randomly generated identifier created on your device, and nothing that identifies you: no name, no email, no account (the app has no accounts), and never your Game Center nickname or your opponent's. Apple's advertising identifier is not used, the app deliberately switches off Amplitude's device-vendor identifier and carrier lookup, and the data is sent to Amplitude's EU region. There is no App Tracking Transparency prompt for a simple reason: we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not sell or share data for advertising. See Amplitude's Privacy Policy.

Advertising

There is none. Real or AI contains no advertising SDK, shows no ads of any kind, and has no advertising identifiers.

Subscriptions

Real or AI Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, offered monthly or yearly, and it unlocks unlimited rounds, all four topics, your game history with the per-image review, and your statistics. The daily challenge and duels with friends are free with or without Pro.

Payment is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store; we never see your payment details. To confirm your subscription and restore it on your other devices the app uses RevenueCat, which receives only an anonymous App Store receipt token and a randomly generated app user ID — no name, email, or any other personal information. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy. A subscription is managed and cancelled through your Apple ID: Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

Children's privacy

Real or AI collects no personal data from anyone, including children — anonymous usage statistics cannot identify any user. Game Center accounts, including those of children, are set up and controlled by Apple and by Family Sharing, not by this app; a parent can turn Game Center, its multiplayer features and its notifications off in iOS Settings, and the single-player game keeps working.

Removing your data

Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device. Anonymous usage events cannot be traced back to you, so there is nothing in them to look up or delete; if you would rather they stopped entirely, email us and we will switch off collection for the identifier you send us. Leaderboard scores, duel matches and your player profile belong to Game Center — remove them through Settings → Game Center or through Apple's privacy portal.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
